The hearing planet is Great

This is the second time I bought aids from the Hearing Planet. Both of the audiologists I went to were great. One in Illinois and the last in South Carolina. Both were very, very helpful. Also I have never had a bad batch of batteries. I have used the company for at least 20 yrs and I am very pleased. When I lost an aid, my audiologist, through Hearing Planet, helped me contact Phonac. The company replaced my aid at a fraction of the original cost. That was a big relief. The Hearing Planet really does give does give you a good price, about half the cost, an audiologist quoted to me. Nancy V

I wonder if any of you know that hearing planet doesn't actually make batteries.

Any time an organization buys in bulk there bound to be some duds...especially with batteries.

You should probably complain to the manufacturer instead of the seller.

They don't test the batteries. If they did, you'd be guaranteed a bad batch every single time.

Your name batteries are not worth the money. You are selling cheap stuff for a reason. Count me as one very pissed off consumer !

Guest

In fairness, on the several occasions when I have called Hearing Planet to complain about batches of defective batteries, they have promptly supplied new packages of batteries without charge and without question. They have not even asked for the return of the defective batteries.

No way to communicate with Hearing Planet or sales agent.

e-mail for Mike Bryant with Hearing Planet in Nashville incorrect and unable to contact Hearing Planet as phone message is full. Please call Sara @ 885-****. I am interested in ordering my hearing aid but unable to do so as no way to communicate. I also sent message to Ann @ Brentwood Hearing Services as they are the ones I will be serviced by. Their e-mail has gone through so hopefully they may call Mike Bryant. I am still trying to come up with 100 words but feel I have included enough words to have you understand my situation. Please respond so this can be taken care of

Hearing Planet Lacks Customer Focus

Hearing Planet consultants do not want to help a customer evaluate their options. If you are not calling to schedule an appointment, they will not return your calls. My mother needed hearing aids last year. We looked into Hearing Planet, but wound up going to another provider. My mother really liked the hearing center and audiologist we went to, but at a half the cost, we chose to go to elsewhere. Now, mom has had sudden, significant hearing loss and requires new aids. I have been doing extensive research with various outfits, including Hearing Planet. I called their consultant twice for cost information (total of 5 minutes for each call), and when I called with another question, she cut me off and bluntly asked if I was going to make an appointment. I was wasting her time, just like we wasted the company's time last year (funny, I thought they were reimbursed for that evaluation). I just find it amazing that in this economy, that this poor level of customer service even exists. How can any company expect an elderly woman, on a fixed income, spend $5600 without evaluating her options? And the real shame is, my mom wanted to go back to their associated audiologist. I will personally pay whatever cost differential and provide any transportation my mom needs to get the service she deserves. I f this is the level of service I am getting BEFORE placing an order, when a customer is usually promised the world, what can I expect after signing on the dotted line? G. Martinkus Homewood, IL

Gayle,

Your story is very similar to that of Partsguy (the other consumer who complained about HP on this website) and I am glad that you too were eventually satisfied with the outcome.

However, the next time around I would encourage you and other consumers to consider www.HearingRevolution.com for your hearing aid needs.

Hearing Revolution sells name-brand hearing aids for a fraction of what HP charges.

Best of luck.

The morning after I posted this complaint, I received a call from the VP of Hearing Planet. He apologized profusely for the way I had been treated and personally addressed my issues.

Based on this response, we did purchase hearing aids through Hearing Planet. My mother loves her audiologist and we are very happy that we decided to give Hearing Planet another chance.

Hearing Planet lied to me

Buyers Beware: I purchased Phonak Audeo V hearing aids from the Hearing Planet for $4100.00. They came with a 45 day trial. On the 44th day I called the Hearing Planet and told them that the hearing aids that I purchased did NOT work well for me on the telephone. They suggested I try an additional piece of equipment and not to "worry" about the 45 day trial period, they wanted me to be satisfied and promised to make things right. Two weeks ago I called Hearing Planet again and told them that I was still having difficulty on the telephone and that these hearing aids and their performance was unacceptable and requested to return them. My service rep David Mathis told me to return the aids and they would credit my account.. Then 10 minutes later he called me back to inform me that I had gone over the 45 day trial and that they would not accept my return. This is the same person that told me not to worry about the 45 day trial period. He then told me that Hearing Planet had extended my trial to 60 days.. and I was over that. Now I'm stuck with $4100.00 worth of hearing aids that do not perform in my work enviroment and Hearing Planet refuses to help me. They promise to call back with a solution.. but never do. Avoid the mess I'm in.. Do not buy from the Hearing Planet.

When you go online whatever you save up front you pay more than that on the back end.

Aids and your wellbeing take a lot of care and upkeep that goes well beyond a year or a few years. That is what you pay for when you go somewhere to get help.

If you save a few dollars ask yourself if it's worth it when you can't wear the things because they don't work for you when and where you need it.

Some lessons are expensive, tell others so they dont make the same mistake. It's no good even if you go somewhere to get help and pick the wrong people, they hand them back to you and say...it's not the aids...your in the same boat.

I go above and beyond to help my patients and it is a crying shame what I see every day, the way people get treated, and all they want is to hear. It's sad really, people who go somewhere else that is cheaper and have problems and come back to me because I was nice and took the time.

They saved a few bucks but it's worth nothing if they cant hear.

I can't fix them because I dont have the software and the person they invested in does not care or cant fix the problem. Such a shame...

Look folks, you have to be grown ups and treat this as the business deal it is. You don't take any change in the deal unless it is in writing.

Do you not know by now that any company needs to be treated like they are going to steal your money no matter how nice the rep you are talking to on the phone sounds? Grow up and take responsibility.

Waiting until the 44th day to try and return something on the 45th day is just foolish and I'm sorry you lost your money but that is your fault. If you are not competent to handle a business deal in the modern "cuthroat" world get a friend or family member to help.

I am sorry this happened to you. I have been very happy with Resound hearing aids.

Please tell everyone to visit a board certified audiologist, in person for a complete hearing test and hearing aid demo. Do not order online!

Parts guy...of course since you went out there, they are going to get that resolved...I know for a fact that HP way overcharges....they charge more over the internet than I do in my hearing practice...they used to be a deal when they first started....but must have gotten greedy...check out your local places...you'll get better prices and service...

I am investigating Hearing Planet and after reading the negative reviews I am hesitant. How do I know I really will get the good service and pricing they are saying?

I'm ambivalent.

I contacted Hearing Planet and they told me they refer local professionals to do the exam and recommend hearing aids. I asked who the pro was, the operator would only give me a first name.

When pressed they became evasive.

BEWARE, this is not professional behavior at all. Sounds like a scam to me.

Partsguy. I'm glad to hear you are now satisfied, but it is too bad you had to go through all that you did. But I agree with John that you paid far too much for your hearing aids.

You, and other consumers, can find comparable technology to the Audeo from other brand-name manufacturers for a fraction of the price.

Next time, check out www.HearingRevolution.com

Does any one know anything about Pecise Hearing as compared to Hearing Planet? There prices are lower but I'm wondering is all else is equal - e.g.

service, warantees/guarantees, etc. Will Hearing Planet match Precise Hearings prices if challenged?

Guest

I am trying to return aids to hearing planet with in the 45 day window. they are not returning phone calls and Monday is the 45 th day.

I have left VMs and sent emails. I am afraid that if I dont return by Monday they wont honor (today is Friday and I will Fed Ex Saturday). However, I cant get a return address.

If anyone knows it can you provide it to me so I can send the aids back to them and not violate the 45 day policy? Thanks for your help

Victor

You still got robbed on price - HP provides little service and a lot of price markup.

They spend 1/2 their working day adding "articles" to blogs and other places that will be found by google, so that they get more exposure and sales. You paid $4,100 for $1,700 whole sale cost aids.

You could have done much better on price.
